In fact, there was so much damage, especially in Suffolk County, that by the end of the storm restoration, crews removed a total of 850 trees associated with the storm on Sunday, June 30, PSEG Long Island officials.
In all more than 1,000 workers were deployed to the area after the storm, including 550 additional personnel from PSE&G in New Jersey, National Grid, Con Edison, Central Hudson, Utica, Buffalo, and NYSEG to help with the effort.
Hardest hit were the Towns of Islip, Huntington, Smithtown and Babylon in Suffolk County.
The company said crews will continue to work with customers who are experiencing problems or outages as the day progresses.
All temporary outreach center set-up to offer ice, water, and snacks to residents have closed. Customer offices in Brentwood, Greenlawn, Hewlett, Melville, and Riverhead are open for business and will remain open until 5 p.m.
